The newest cocktail escape to hit downtown opened last month complete with an oyster bar. Evangeline opened on the landing overlooking the lobby of Distrikt Hotel. In the morning Evangeline is a coffee and pastry bar and at night it turns to cocktails and oysters.

The menu houses your classic cocktails with a twist like a House Gin and Tonic and Seelbach. The Seelbach is Makers Mark Bourbon, Cointreau, Angostura Bitters, Peychaurd’s Bitters, Francois Montand Blanc De Blancs. The House Gin and Tonic is Bombay Sapphire Gin, sugar, House Tonic Tincture, Natrona Seltzer Water and Aromatics. There is also a wine and beer list and a special Smoke Show menu that is their house cocktail that includes Knob Creek Rye and Copper and Kings Absinthe.

The oyster bar also has an array of sauces and different seafood like shrimp and clams. You can pick a few different plates and other items on the menu include a cheese board and smokedTrout Rillets.

Hours of Evangeline are Mon-Sat 8AM-12AM and Sunday 8AM-10PM.  For more information check out their website at http://www.distrikthotel.com/pittsburgh/dine-drink/ or on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
