No plans for this weekend? Well we have some events to share that will pack your Saturday!
First, starting at 9 am on the North Side is the annual Mexican War Streets Neighborhood Yard Sale. The sale spans from North Ave to Jefferson St. and Brighton Rd. to Federal St. Specialty vendors including the BRGR food truck, War Streets brewery, Square Café brunch truck, and many more will be set up at the Yard Sale Headquarters located on lower Buena Vista St. Over 100 homes are participating this year so be sure to get there early!
After you have taken your findings back to the car, you’ll want to hop on a bus or the T and head straight for Point State Park where Venture Outdoors will be holding its 15th annual Venture Outdoors Festival. If you are a member, you get an early bird preview of the 2016 summer season starting at 11 am; Non-members can join in on the festivities at noon. This year’s activities include rock climbing, bike riding, fishing, kayaking, yoga and much more. All activities are free and equipment is available on site.
If you forgot to eat while yard sale-ing, food vendors will be on hand to fill your tummy! And if you didn’t get enough shopping in either, I Made It Market has partnered with Venture Outdoors and will be set up in the park too until the festival ends at 6 pm.
These events are rain or shine and you will be doing a lot of moving around, so dress accordingly. For more information on these events, check out their respective websites and Facebook groups.
