Peace, Love, Pittsburgh-2017 Highmark First Night Celebration

This year First Night festivities return with the theme Peace, Love, Pittsburgh and the streets will be filled with art, music and amazing festivities. 

The evening will begin at 6:00PM with The Dollar Bank Children’s Fireworks at the Highmark Stage. After the finally of the fireworks, Barrels to Beethoven, a steelpan band will kick off the musical entertainment.

The Allegheny Health Network Parade returns for its 24th year with grand marshall Randy Gilson from Randyland. Studio Capezzuti returns with the giant puppets for the parade along with classic cars and lots of performances.

Lee Fields & The Expressions is the headliner this year on the main stage. As the Future of Pittsburgh Grand Finale, the ball will rise above the stage at midnight. There are other musical acts throughout the evening including Byron Nash and Plan B will hit the stage at 9PM.

There are also over 100 different events in 30 venues. Most of the events are held inside. Included this year are also warming stations. Tents set-up throughout the city will also include charging area for devices. For a complete list of events check out TrustArts.org/FirstNightPGH. The site is also mobile friendly so party goers can just plan as you go.

In the end, admission will gain you access to all 100+ activities. The buttons are $10 and can be purchased at TrustArts.org/FirstNightPGH, in person at the Box Office at Theater Square (655 Penn Avenue), or by phone at 412-456-6666. Additionally, participating Giant Eagle store locations will have Admission Buttons available for sale at a $1 discount with Advantage Card®. If you purchase Admission Buttons at participating Giant Eagle locations, you will be directed to register your button at TrustArts.org/FirstNightPGH. Event seating vouchers maybe needed for some events and can be registered also online. In addition there are First Night Friend VIP for $40 and get you VIP seating in venues and access to parking and a VIP lounge.
