HustleHERWay Summit

By: Amanda Narcisi

It has never been a secret that BOLD Pittsburgh was founded by women and a strong sense of hustle so it was only fitting that we sat in on the HustleHERWay Summit at AlphaLab in East Liberty in June. During the day we surrounded ourselves with other creative and smart business women.

The event started out Friday evening at Savoy for cocktails and a networking event called: Heels and Deals. It was a great event with plenty of food and a great mixture of business women, creatives and other bloggers. I enjoyed a few cocktails and sat with some old and new friends. It was a great networking event and got to hear fellow ladies tell their story of how they want to start their own business.

On Saturday I went to the summit starting at 10AM and since I came early I had a chance to see the sponsor tables. Among them were MangosCoconuts and Whetstone Workgroup from Sharpsburg. MangosCoconuts is all about self-care. They combine art and wellness for gifts for all occasions. They include: hand whipped butters, essential oils and oil blends, organic teas, mists, mindfulness activities and more. Whetstone Workgroups is a co-working group and community space that also includes a space for day-care.

The summit kicked off with Miracle Reed; a motivational speaker who started with a talk of “Living with Determination” where she discussed overcoming adversity and met your goals. Next Ellyse Williams covered “Jet Setting 101: How & Why You Should Travel the World” where she explained how she started traveling and how you can do it too on any budget. Robin Rectenwald then covered “Managing Your Financial Empire.” At 11:45 we broke for lunch which was provided. Kyshira Moffett, the organizer of HustleHERWay then presented the topic “Brand School” where we learned to take our brand from “blah” to “bankable”. The last presentation of the day was a panel discussion with four powerful women discussing stories of their businesses through audience questions.

We then wrapped with pink wine and cookies in the shape of heels and ones that said “Hustle”. We were free to then network and head out to the world. The HustleHERWay summit was enriching and rewarding and I was pleased to be a part of it. For future events check out KSM Group.
