On August 31st, Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse and Whiskey Garden in Pittsburgh’s Spring Garden neighborhood will be a “Hopped” up great time when Wigle debuts a new whiskey. Hopped Whiskey will debut with an event featuring hoppy cocktails, dry hopped cider from Threadbare Cider House, food truck, live music and a presentation from a distiller.
The Hopped Whiskey will feature the citrus and floral notes from hops. It is catered for the beer aficionados with two different type of hopped filled whiskey: one with Cascade hops and the other with Nugget Hops. A wheat whiskey was used as a balanced flavor to bring the hops forward. Both Whiskeys were blended together at the bottling phase.
On Friday, August 31st, Wigle will debut Hopped Whiskey at the Wigle Barrelhouse and Whiskey Garden during a special Hop Fest. The release begins at 5 PM with a presentation from master distillers at 6:30 and 7:30. There will be chances to sample the new whiskey and order a cocktail designed with the spirit in mind. Threadbare Cider House will also have a Dry Hopped Cider available on tap and several hopped beers will be available for purchase. The event is free with registration, however, attendees are recommended to purchase a Whiskey Passport for $20 for a free cocktail and other special features like $5 off a bottle of Hopped Whiskey and $2 off a bottle of Threadbare Dry Hopped Cider. Pizza will be available for purchase from Alberta's Pizza and live music from Melinda Colaizzi from 7-9PM.
