On Thursday, August 24th, The Roxian in Pittsburgh will be filled with music to raise awareness of Liver Health.

The Cause

The Ultimate Liver Function, sponsored by UPMC and in partnership with Community Liver Alliance, is held in honor of Mary Lou Hunt. Mary Lou, the wife of Johnny Angel of the Halos, was a recipient of a live liver transplant at UPMC Presbyterian. Mary Lou began to found a donor after a social media post shared across Facebook. In true Pittsburgh fashion, Sarah Booz stepped in a donated a piece of her liver to Mary Lou.

YaJagoff Media organizes the Ultimate Liver Function. Rachel Rennebeck, co-owner of YaJagoff Media and daughter of Jack and Mary Lou Hunt says, “Living donors give new meaning to a second chance. It is simply life-changing for all involved, and we want to share that at The Ultimate Liver Function.”
