In Pittsburgh winter is in full swing with lots of snow and brisk temperatures. Everyone has gone into hibernation with warm cocktails and dreams of a lodge with a fireplace. For one local cocktail restaurant they brought the ambiance of a ski lodge to the Distrikt Hotel Downtown.
Evangeline transformed with the help of Toll Gate Revival into a ski lodge and added a new menu that could warm anyone. The menu includes the restaurants signature oysters as well as two new Fondue dishes: Cheese and Chocolate. The Cheese Fondue includes Gruyeye and Epital cheese with sourdough and pickled vegetables. The Chocolate Fondue is dark chocolate with strawberries, marshmallows, pretzels, molasses cookies and bananas.
The cocktails range from warm to cold and includes tons of flavor and cordials. One of the hot cocktails is a Slopeside Mulled Wine with Anise, ginger, clove and cinnamon stick. The other side of the slope included a cocktail called The Vohn: Knob Creek Rye, Bols Genever, Nux Alpina, Sweet Vermouth, Rosemary and Jerry Thomas Decanter Bitters.
