The 2018 Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts brings thirty companies and artists from all over the world for eight weeks of sights and sounds.
The Festival of Firsts was designed to bring first runs and world premieres of shows and art installations. A curation team spread out across the globe to bring the shows to The Cultural District in Pittsburgh. The companies and artists bring talents from countries like Argentina, Brazil, India, South Africa, and Thailand.
There will be a local show making its world debut here at the Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts. Chatterton from Quantum Theater will be at Trinity Cathedral. This immersive theater experience will have theatergoers experiencing three centuries of a poetic masterpiece. The show will begin in the historic courtyard with cocktails. During intermission, food will be served by a local celebrity chef choose each week.
One of the most diverse shows will be 50 Cities-50 Traces. This show will take place at SPACE on Liberty. This show will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons signed by the nuclear-weapon states of the USA, the Soviet Union, and Great Britain in 1968. The concept behind 50 Cities-50 Traces is for a contrasting trace from 50 Mayors for Peace cities.
