Podcasting has become its own phenomenon with more and more people starting their own. Pittsburgh currently has podcast companies like Sorgatron Media, Rivers Edge Radio and others. On September 30th, Pittsburgh will once again be on the map for International Podcast day when it hosts Pittsburgh PodCon.
International Podcast Day was started in 2013 and held its first day in 2014 on September 30th with six hours of Podcasting. Steve Lee (founder of Modern Life Network), started International Podcast Day after hearing a radio announcement for National Senior Citizens’ Day. Since then International Podcast Day has turned into a worldwide celebration with many podcasters doing 24-hour streams, special episodes and even cons like the one taking place here.
Pittsburgh PodCon will be held on September 30th from 5 PM - 10 PM at Spirit in Lawrenceville. Hosted by Sorgatron Media and The Rivers Edge, Pittsburgh PodCon will bring podcasters from all over the area together to show off what their shows are about. Podcasters are invited to sign up for a booth and chat with attendees about their shows. There will be a panel discussion that evening and live podcasts.
For more information on International Podcast Day visit here. Official event information will be posted here. The founders can be found at Sorgatron Media and The Rivers Edge. Stay tuned to BOLD for more information. If you are a podcaster and interested in a booth fill out the form in the Facebook Event.
