The 43rd season of Pittsburgh Public Theater begins with EQUUS. It is also Ted Pappas last season with Pittsburgh Public Theater.
EQUUS is a story of a young stable man in England in the mid 1970’s. Alan Strang played by Spencer T. Hamp has a love for the horses that morphs into something darker and after a horrible act of violence Martin Dysart played by Daniel Krell is the psychiatrist tasked with discovering why Alan changed. The most interesting part of EQUUS is that the horses are played by people dressed in metal hooves and helmets.
EQUUS opens on September 28th and plays through October 29th with various dates and times. Tickets can be purchased at the O’Reilly Theater Box Office or call 412.316.1600 or go to ppt.org. Ticket range in price from $30 - $75. Tickets for students & age 26 & younger: $15.75.
